English Majolica Asparagus Cradle, Circa 1885
-
Description
This Majolica asparagus cradle is composed of a well of white asparagus spears with lavender tips and held together by orange-yellow ribbons. The cradle sits on an attached base in the form of leafy greens with a vine-shaped handle at either end. There is a small chip in the glaze on one of the sides, as shown in the photos. This is typical with the age of the pottery, and does not detract from the overall appearance and its usefulness. Signed "GD".
