Description
Pennsylvania, probably Pittsburgh, ca. 1825-1830
This imposing punch bowl or large compote is among a small group known in this size. This punch bowl has a few distinct features seen in early Bakewell pieces, such as the oversized fan cutting above the cross-hatched diamond form patterns, the “bladed” knob stem for a standard and scalloped rim.
