  • Description
    Danish Modern silver Louvre bowl. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen. Round and curved; rim flat with alternating scrolls and scallops; raised and stepped foot. The open support with beaded leaves and tendrils reflects the stylized naturalism that predominated in the early years.

    This Louvre bowl (so called because the Louvre Museum has one in its collection) was made less than a decade after it was designed by the master around 1910.

    Fully marked including maker’s (ca 1915-19) and fineness (830) stamps, no. 19, and Swedish import marks. Very good condition.
