Description
Victorian glass whiskey jug decanter with engraved silver overlay. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1886. Round bowl with flat sides and c-scroll handle mounted to neck and shoulder. Cover hinged and cork-lined with engraved interlaced script monogram. Pictorial overlay depicting on one side Ye Olden Days fishermen in breeches and tricorn hats; on the other a man and woman stroll companionably, a house in the background. Glass is green. Silver fully marked including maker’s stamp, no. S815, and patent year. Very good condition.
