English Arts & Crafts sterling silver porringer, 1925. Curved and round bowl with split-mounted elongated loop handle; top mount has irregular mother of pearl. Visible hand hammering.
The classic Ashbee design by George Henry Hart, who began working at the Guild of Handicraft in 1902, and who continued the silver workshop after the Guild’s collapse in 1907. Fully marked. Also stamped “Hart & Huyshe / Campden. Glos.”. Reynell Huyshe was Hart’s half-brother. Very good condition.
