Description
George III sterling silver tea caddy. Made by Henry Chawner in London in 1788. Oval with straight sides. Cover hinged and domed with beaded and carved wood finial set in leaf mount. Bright-cut Neoclassical ornament: Vases, paterae, garlands, and scrolls. Chamfered rectangular frames (vacant). Leaf-and-dart and wave borders. Fully marked. Very good condition.
