Indian Figural Silver Plated Fruit Bowl, Circa 1880's

Description
Fruit bowl is marked “Middletown Plate Quadruple hard white metal #985”, obviously manufactured by the “Middletown Plate Company” Circa 1880’s. They opened up for business in Middletown, Connecticut in 1864. Piece is in excellent all original condition with the silver plate strong and intact, with no dents or gouges. Some pitting to interior of bowl. Rare and highly desirable subject matter depicting an American Indian in his native dress leaning over the bowl and waving to his cherub like child on the other side of the bowl opening. Nice engraving and chafing throughout. Unique piece of Art of The American West.
