Japanese Meiji Art Nouveau silver covered ginger jar, ca 1890. Iris flowers in full bloom with splayed and overlapping tendrils applied to spot-hammered ground. Double walled. Fin-de-siecle exoticism for the sophisticated Western market. Marked. Very good condition. Minor bung at bottom (see photo).
