Magnificent English Georgian Neoclassical sterling silver tureen on stand, 1800-1. Oval bowl with cast high-looping reeded and leaf-capped sides handles. Gadrooned mouth rim and stepped foot. Half-gadrooned egg-and-dart band. Cover domed with same as well as cast bust finial of tiger rampant with shaggy mane and nose horn. Stand raised and fluted with gadrooned rim; ends upturned with applied acanthus leaves and volute scroll terminals. Engraved armorials. For a couple more centuries of really special dinner parties. Fully marked including maker’s stamp WH (possibly William Hall), London assay stamp, and date letters for 1800 (tureen) and stand (1801). Very good condition.
