Description
Established in Venice in 1846, Missiaglia is one of the world's premier makers of the finest jewelry objects, as well as a select number of bespoke sterling silver tabletop accessories. This handcrafted octopus salt shaker and pepper mill showcase the skill of Missiaglia's artisans in rendering life-like plant and animal forms in pure sterling silver. The pieces present these beloved cephalopods with their eight arms furling, their suction cups delicately articulated in fine silver. The salt shaker has tiny perforations to allow the sodium chloride crystals to escape, while the grinder artfully conceals the dried peppercorns within the head of the octopus. Quite simply, these are the finest tabletop products that money can buy. These salt and pepper shakers would surely have been the choice of the Medicis. Signed "Missiaglia .925" on the base. 1146 grams of Sterling silver. Mint condition.
