Titus Ceramic Plate by Olle Alberius for Rörstrand, 1960s

Description
This hand-painted Titus ceramic plate was designed by Olle Alberius between 1963 - 1970 for Rörstrand. Sven-Olof ‘Olle’ Alberius (1926-1993) was a Swedish ceramist, potter, designer and glass artist. He was born in Jönköping in southern Sweden and educated at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design Stockholm (Konstfack). From 1957 to 1965 Alberius worked as a designer at Syco Keramik in Stromstad. In 1963 he began a collaboration with Rörstrand where he designed tableware such as the Astral, Fleur, Grace, Koffi, Forma, Taffel and the Blå and Brun Korall lines and Sarek, Lümmel, Fyris series of vases, lamp bases, urns, wall-plates and other decorative items. From 1971 Alberius worked exclusively for Orrefors Glassworks designing tableware and decorative glass. Olle Alberius’ work is represented in permanent collections of several museums, including the National Museum of Sweden in Stockholm and the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg.
