George III sterling silver punchbowl. Made by Paul Storr in London in 1806. Round and curved on raised foot. Egg-and-dart rim and gadrooned borders. Cast lion-head side mounts with loose scroll and shell rings. Engraved armorial with Latin motto “In vigila sic vinces” (that is, “Conquer with vigilance”). Austere Georgian Neoclassicism by the preeminent Regency silversmith. Fully marked. Very good condition. Overall dimensions: H 8 3/4 x W 13 x D 11 3/4 in.
With: Fiddle Thread & Shell sterling silver ladle. Made by Paul Storr in London in 1816. Engraved flower (cinquefoil) and oak branch armorial. Fully marked. Very good condition. Dimensions: H 14 x W 4 1/8 x D 3 1/2 in.
