Wedgwood Creamware Chestnut Basket and Stand
-
Description
This fine example of a Wedgwood Creamware Chestnut Baskets and Stand (under plate) was one of Wedgwood's most intricate handmade designs, circa 1790s. The late George III period is represented in the fine cobalt detailing of the creamware and is uncommon. The fine weaving and intertwining of the clay was difficult to execute and represents Wedgwood's attention to detail and quality.
