An 18th Century petit point silkwork embroidery of a lady seated next to a tree, in a country landscape. Goats, a dog and sheep in the foreground. A house in the background with a smoking chimney and birds perched on the roof. The piece is worked in petit point, using silk and fine wool-like threads on a canvas ground. Colours red, cream, yellow, green and blue. Framed in an old wood frame with rippled, old glass. Mounting: The piece is tacked to a wood stretcher frame. Frame backed with wood and sealed with tape.. Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.

Origin: England Period: 18th Century Condition: Good. Good. No holes. No stains. Minor stitch losses in places. Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run. Neatly and evenly stretched. Frame has a chip in top right corner. And showing slight wear, otherwise sound.
