Description
Framed Salvatore Ferragamo Leopard Silk Scarf This wonderful square silk scarf by Salvatore Ferragamo features 5 leopards in various poses. This motif of exotic animals printed in detail (as opposed to the floral “patchwork’) is a classic of Ferragamo’s works from the 1980’s and onwards.
This particular scarf really captures the different sides of the leopard, from the relaxed, tree lounging feline in the top right, to the intimidating, deep staring predator in the centre. With felines symbolising elegance and grace, it’s not a surprise that they were, and are, a popular motif in the brand
creation.
The use of the floral imagery is something that can be seen a lot in Ferragamo scarves, as if helps to create a 2D and 3D effect; which is evident here with the leaves helping to bring forward the leopards and create depth within the picture. Silk scarves for the Ferragamo brand were the passion of Salvatore’s daughter, Fulvia, she became the mastermind behind these scarves for the brand. With many of these scarves being made in Como, Italy. - More Information
