Description
This is an exceptional example of a 19th century British sailor's "Woolie" or woolwork that is signed "G.W. Whitby/India. The woolwork depicts the Prince of Wales' feathers together with two British Flags: one dated "LXXVII" or 1824 and the other depicting an insignia for The Prince of Wales and other symbols. The woolwork has not been examined out-of-frame, but it appears to be in overall good condition with one or two very tiny holes in the feathers. Frame dimensions: 27.5" x 27.5".
