Description
A pair of large wall-hanging framed Royal Warrant of Appointment proclamations reversed painted on glass and dating from the early 20th century. Royal warrants were granted by the King and Queen to select trusted purveyors to the Royal Household. These name Queen Victoria and King Edward VII in one and King George V and Queen Alexandra in the other, in elaborate hand-painted gilt lettering on a white background against a red matting. These were probably used as advertising in a high-end shop premises. Framed in a black wood frame, with original wooden backboards. Handsome, substantial and historical.
