Alfred T. Bricher (1837-1908)
Signed Lower Right
Circa 1885
Overall: 34 inches by 55 inches
Sight: 17 1/2 inches by 38 1/2 inches
Reference: Alfred Bricher is an American artist well known for his luminist views of New England shorelines. His paintings are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, The White House Permanent Collection, and the Dallas Museum of Art, among others.
The original frame bears the label of the framer located at 63 East 9th Street, New York. The American Art Annual, 1899, lists “J. Bohne, Frames” at that address.
Provenance: Berry-Hill Galleries, New York. Exhibited at their “Hudson River School Days” exhibition from November 18, 1992 to January 9, 1993. -
