Description
André Rozay (1922-1994), a French ceramist and sculptor, initially aspired to become a painter before turning to ceramics. Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Bourges and Paris, his works from this early period are rare. After World War II, he developed a distinctive style, blending minimalist animal sculptures with functional pottery pieces, often ash-glazed. His creations, characterized by bold and stylized forms, revitalized traditional pottery themes while remaining deeply rooted in craftsmanship.
