A French medium size still life oil painting signed by Berthe Vincendon from the late 19th century, depicting fruits and a pitcher. Set within a richly carved giltwood frame, this French painting features a basket with fruits and pitcher. Occupying the center of the composition, the artist shows us here her Impressionist technique, defining the lines of the basket through large brushstrokes. Contrasting beautifully with the dark brown tones of the basket, the white and blue pitcher and colorful apple receive the light from the right, thus creating a dramatic effect. The surface on which they are placed along with the background, are neutral, allowing us to immediately focus on the subject. Signed B. Vincendon, this French late 19th century still life painting will enliven any wall beautifully.
