Description
A collection of four rectangular leather panels in gold paint on a rich, russet background. The decoration features a symmetrical arrangement of acanthus leaves and floriate motifs, anchored by a central urn with a mirrored pair of regal griffins. The griffins, with leonine bodies and avian heads, add a heraldic quality to the fragments. These panels were likely once part of a larger screen and are now mounted on board; English circa 1880.
