-
Description
A German oil on canvas mounted on board landscape painting by artist Hans Weidinger from the Mid-20th Century, depicting the town of Tegernsee located in the Bavarian Alps. Created in Germany during the second quarter of the 20th Century, this oil on canvas mounted on board painting was created by Hans Weidinger. The rectangular scene depicts a peaceful and lovely town located on the shore of Lake Tegernsee. Marked by the Bavarian alpine view, the painting exudes an air of tranquility. Our attention is immediately drawn to the center of the composition, occupied by the church steeple. The lake is in the front and creates a diagonal carefully leading our eyes throughout. The mountains in the background frame the ensemble. The soft blue and green colors of the palette Weidinger used, participate in the general sense of peace. The painting is signed H Weidinger lower left and is set in a rustic wooden frame. With its charming subject and skillful depiction, this Hans Weidinger oil on canvas landscape painting of Tegernsee circa 1940 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, hung above a side table, buffet or chest of drawers.
