Description
Wonderful, signed and dated oil on panel landscape by Belgian artist Jean Pierre Francois Lamoriniere, depicting a tranquil pond among rolling hills under a dramatic sky of pillowy clouds. The ornate carved & gilded frame features a small plaque to identify the artist and years of his death and birth. This work, according to the wax seal on the back of the panel, was sold (posthumously) by his gallery or estate in 1912. A tiny signature can be found in the lower right corner of the scene.
