Description
Originally painted by Peter Paul Rubens in 1615, contemporary titled "Satyr and Maid with Fruit Basket." The dual nature Satyr, both human and animal with a diabolical grin is paired with a rosy-cheeked maiden (or just as possible a bacchante) carrying an overflowing basket of fruit. This version painting in the late 19th century and contains a printed mark to the back in German identifying this as a copy of the original. Solid stained wood frame.
