Description
One-of-a-kind ML1701 mosaic part of the collection “Voos” (flights) by contemporary artist Mariana Lloyd.
About the collection:
"In early 2020, the Covid-19 (SARS-Cov-2) began to spread, forcing many people to stay inside their homes. During the months locked in, the desire to escape and fly away arose very strongly. For this Collection, I created eight one-of-a-kind mosaics to represent the time we remained suspended in the air, locked inside, without having a defined destination." - Mariana Lloyd.
About the artist:
Based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mariana Lloyd combines her background in graphic design with a studied passion for mosaics to create one-of-a-kind compositions inspired by geometry, nature, and technology. Lloyd’s work ranges from small-scale stimulating and colourful abstractions to a large-scale pictorial mural at “Nossa Senhora da Paz" subway station in Rio de Janeiro. Combining small pieces of glass and ceramic with non-traditional materials such as rocks and beads, the artist crafts imaginary landscapes where micro and macro intertwine, developing ideas of movement and belonging. -
