Description
An aboriginal contemporary painting by Australian artist Ningie Nangala (born 1938-). The colorful canvas depicts the artist's ancestral country called Nawilyi in the Great Sandy Desert which is dotted with salt lakes. The green encircled area on the left side of the canvas represents a lake named "Warranpa". The many lines represent floodplains as well as the tali (sandhills) found in this country. Signed on the back of the canvas under the preservation board.
