Description
Lancaster Co, Pennsylvania, dated 1857.
Watercolor and pen/ink on paper.
18” x 13” with frame.
Excellent condition, period frames.
Provenance: Americana Collection of Pat and Rich Garthoeffner.
Both calligraphic watercolors are finely drawn and colored. One is inscribed, Franklin Berheiser of South Maheim Township, Schuylkill County Pennsylvania January 16th, 1857, the other, God Bless Our Stars Forever. The drawings are further enhanced by a fabulous pair of baluster form, blocked end frames from Pennsylvania, ca. 1830-50. -
