Description
Beautifully sculpted and finished, this wall-mounted sculpture depicts the head of a Pharaoh, handsomely depicted with full lips and wide eyes, surmounted by a Classic Egyptian headdress with a winged scarab. The sculpture is molded plaster painted in rich tones of deep red, black and taupe, layered with a patina gained over the last 90 years. The sculptor was Raffaello Scali, an Italian sculptor who was born in Livorno and later did much of his artistic work in Belgium.
