Stunning wall-hanging "Ming" painting in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-applied enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (etched “P+K LaVerne” on bottom) The coloration is superb.

Sculpture, Bronze and Pewter Tables, The Art of Philip LaVerne catalog with gold and white cover published in the 1960’s, page 8 shows a photo of 2 tables with tops from this series. In the back of the catalog is a description which reads: “MING #131 PAIR:
The extraordinary artistry of the Ming Period is superbly captured…. The traditional Ming warrior holding the invincible sword is carved of bronze and pewter.”
