Set of 16 Herbariums, Circa 1901

Sold Sold
  • Description
    - A stunning example of a vanishing art, this set of 16 framed botanicals is one of our most coveted finds. 100 years of patina have given these pieces a rich, warm hue, making them an elegant and poetic way to bring the natural world inside. The actual specimens were carefully hand pressed in 1901. The collection was later framed in the 1970's; these are the original wooden frames. The organic shapes of each play off one another beautifully, offering endless hanging possibilities: wrapping a small space, hung in a grid-like series to create a statement on a large wall, arranged in a simple horizontal line, or climbing the architecture of a room.
