Description
This is a wonderful large abstract painting by the internationllay acclaimed artists, The Zhou Brothers. The media is oil paint, burlap and rope on canvas. This painting was executed in 1990. It is signed and dated in the lower left, In the late 1970s, the Zhou Brothers developed an abstract style that merged China’s primitive art aesthetic, inspired by the ancient Huashan rock paintings, with the language of western art tradition. The Zhou Brothers were born in the1950s in China Guangxi and came to the United States in 1986.. In 2011 the Zhou Brothers were commissioned by President Barack Obama to create the painting Eight US Presidents and the Great Wall as an diplomatic gift to Chinese President Hu.
