Description
This is a very large painting from 1995 titled "Moon Dance" by the Zhou Brothers. It is striking. In the late 1970s, the Zhou Brothers developed an abstract style that merged China’s primitive art aesthetic, inspired by the ancient Huashan rock paintings, with the language of western art tradition. The Zhou Brothers were born in the1950s in China Guangxi and came to the United States in 1986. They have gained International recognation for their art. In 2011 the Zhou Brothers were commissioned by President Barack Obama to create the painting Eight US Presidents and the Great Wall as an diplomatic gift to Chinese President Hu. This painting has a black strip wood frame adding 1 inch in total to the measurements below.
