Description
"Vermiglio" 2023, 48" H x 60" W. Large-scale, multi-colored abstract painting consisting of acrylic, house paint, pencils, and oil pastels on canvas by Argentine-born artist Karina Gentinetta (featured in Elle Decor, the New York Times, Traditional Home, Veranda Magazine, Luxe Interiors, and most recently on 1stdibs' Introspective Magazine). This work is a colorful and energetic and full of childlike innocence. It is bold and spirited and full of movement and named after it's predominant bold red color (vermillion). As with all of Ms. Gentinetta's paintings, they also incorporate elements of reason and mathematics as a constant reminder of the rational side of her life. This work was inspired by Ms. Gentinetta's summer travels to Italy where she experienced the colorful and deep rooted traditions of her ancestral grandparents' home. A vibrant movement in acrylics, pencils and oil pastels in predominant hues of a deep red/orange color with hints of pale pink, peaches, burnt orange, raw sienna, mauve, white, lavender, and blue with carbon pencils against a neutral background. Framed in a natural poplar wood floater frame.
