Description
This Magazine Tree is one of several variations designed by Edward Wormley, a pioneer of Mid-Century Modern Design, for furniture manufacturer Dunbar in the late 1940s. The design was highly adaptable, and Dunbar produced Wormley’s Magazine Trees in a variety of sizes and woods.
This example, in English Walnut, is the larger of the sizes produced. A center post supports a series of shelves of graduated withs on either side, which can be used to display magazines or books.
This piece of original Ed Wormley furniture features a stenciled manufacturer’s mark and model number on the underside.
