Description
A large and decorative painting of Saint Rocco at a feast. Attributed to Jacopo Bassano part of a family of noted Venetian painters active in the 16th and 17th century. The family workshop produced a large body of works featuring religious subjects and landscapes. Their work was prized for depictions of animals and genre paintings. We particularly like the dogs and monkey in this painting. The frame is stylistically correct but later. The painting has been cleaned and laid down.
