18th century Italian painting, pastoral genre scene
-
Description
Great 18th century Italian painting. Oil painting on canvas depicting a wonderful pastoral scene attributable to the Milanese painter Francesco Londino (the work is currently not accompanied by expertise, but it can be requested upon payment of the relevant additional costs). He was known for his rural genre scenes, animated by flocks and peasant figures immersed in a bucolic atmosphere. The representation is in fact dominated by a rich variety of farm animals, including donkeys, cows, goats and sheep, arranged with a wise compositional balance. At the top left we find a young shepherd who leans on his stick and observes his flock. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting of the color in small spots. Overall in good condition. Artwork that is part of a pair, see photos and request the price as a whole if still available.
