Splendid religious painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a subject dear to pilgrims, Tobias and the angel. Having set out to collect a debt on the orders of his father, he was guided and helped by the archangel Raphael. The boy is portrayed together with his celestial companion while carrying a large fish, whose gall was used by the young man to cure his elderly father's blindness. Painting of notable pictorial quality, particularly evident in the creation of the drapes and the refined chromatic palette. Scenic 20th century frame in carved, lacquered and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting of the color in small spots. Overall in good condition. Internal size H 59 x W 43 cm.
