Description
Original oil on masonite painting of a girl with hula hoop and a carnival merry-go-round in the background by Carol Blanchard. Signed lower right. Condition is excellent. Circa 1960. The painting is housed in it’s original carved wood with white wash finish. Overall framed measurements are 18.75 by 14.5 inches. Provenance: New York City estate.
Carol Blanchard (American, born 1918)
Carol Blanchard was a fashion illustrator and painter who worked for many years in the advertising department of Lord & Taylor, setting the classic 1960s style for the bridal shop of their flagship New York City store.
She was represented by Perls Gallery in New York City one of the longest running and respected galleries in the city. -
