Felix Akulw uses bright, intricate designs that seem to move and alter as one views them. Light, colour and shape are of paramount importance in his work. There is a little hint here of Terry Frost and some of the late 20th century Cornish artists, but these are very much a product of another, different, more sophisticated generation. Akulw’s paintings are vivid and strong, bringing a focus into the space they occupy. These paintings are an interior designers delight, a wonderful way of enhancing space and introducing colour and form.
