This poignant large and impressive oil on canvas is an important work as it most likely depicts the gardens of Villa El Biar, Algiers, where Rochegrosse and his wife Marie spent their winters from 1900 until the artist's death in 1937.
A fine Oil on Canvas in a spectacular carved wood frame. This finely detailed painting sold in a private sale in Sotheby's NYC in 2001 and then resold in Sotheby's NYC to a Greenwich Connecticut Gentleman.
