Description
The artist of this appealing full length portrait of a young lady is unknown but has successfully conveyed the charm and innocence of girlhood in this gentle portrait. The lush background of trees, roses and lilies of the valley suggests a southern provenance. Framed by this back ground, the rendering of the girl's bright red dress and straw hat with vibrant ribbon trim and trusting expression reveals an experienced portraitist with a skillful hand.
