Description
Large, impressive seascape of rolling surf pounding the rocky shore of Capri. Signed lower left by the Italian artist Guido Odierna. Circa 1975. Condition is very good. Presently unframed. Provenance: New York City collector.
Born on November 13, 1913 in Capri, Italy, he went on to study under two renowned seascape painters: Michele Federico and Konstantin Ivanovich Gorabtov. Odierna had over 35 solo exhibitions during his career, including in Rome, Milan, Turin, Genoa, Biella, Vercelli, Catania, and Trieste. Odierna is known for his seascapes of Capri where he spent his summers. He died in 1991. -
