Art Deco Style Painting by Jean-Théobald Jacus

Description
Framed, large scale, figurative oil painting by French painter Jean-Théobald Jacus depicting a lively soirée scene with dancing and music, painted in an Art Deco style. The frame is creatively detailed with collaged clippings of spirits and wine bottle labels. Signed on the bottom left of the painting and has a nailed-in plaque on the frame on the bottom-center. Jacus was a drawing and painting professor at l'Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris as well as a Graphic Art professor and a teaching director at ESMOD International in Paris. In 1987, he was named/appointed as an official painter of air and space by the French ministry of the armed forces, and was the illustrator of the 1987 edition of Boris Vian's "L'Ecume des Jours", published by Nouvelle Librairie de France.
