Description
Framed, figurative oil painting by French painter Jean-Théobald Jacus depicting an elegantly dynamic soirée scene with dancing, musicians, and partygoers painted in an Art Deco cubist style. The painting's gilded frame is creatively detailed with collaged clippings of spirits and wine bottle labels. Signed on the bottom left of the painting and has a nailed-in plaque on the frame on the bottom-center.
Jean Jacus was a drawing and painting professor at l'Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris as well as a Graphic Art professor and a teaching director at ESMOD International in Paris. In 1987, he was named/appointed as an official painter of air and space by the French ministry of the armed forces, and was the illustrator of the 1987 edition of Boris Vian's "L'Ecume des Jours", published by Nouvelle Librairie de France. -
