Description
Lorenz Strauch (1554 - 1636), oil on canvas portrait of a noblewoman in a black dress with a lace collar and highly detailed gold jewelry on her chest and arms. The dress is distinguished by a noticeable texture of damask fabric with matte patterns on a shiny surface. Signed and dated 1613 upper left. Lorenz Strauch was a German Old master painter of architectural pictures and portraits. He painted on glass and was an engraver Glasmaler. He was exceptionally precise in the draughtsmanship of his portraits and of costume in general.

Condition
Good overall, reveals signs of restoration under the black light. -
