Louis van Heerden is a South African artist born in 1941 who began his teaching career at Pretoria Boys High School; where Walter Battiss and Larry Scully also taught. He joined the South African Art Association and later served as president. As evidenced by the selection of artworks recorded here on the Strauss & Co website, van Heerden’s subject matter ranges from landscape to figurative, but is focused on interior scenes with vases full of flowers.
