    Oliver Clare (1853-1927)

Born in 1853, he was the son of still-life artist George Clare. The Clare family members were Victorian artists who specialized in still life and flower paintings.

Oliver lived in Birmingham during most of his artistic life and while his artistic training is unknown, it is assumed that he was schooled to an extent by his father, since their stippling techniques and subject matter are almost identical.
