As a painter focusing on the wealth of subject matter in California and the West, Paul Youngman's paintings are real, rich in color and depth without being overdone, and his subjects have wide appeal.
Youngman majored in Fine Art and Graphic Art at the University of California in Los Angeles, and became an architectural and free-lance illustrator. After twenty years in the commercial art field, he chose to expand upon his natural ability as a painter.
Through numberous one-man shows and juried exhibits, Youngman's paintings have won wide recognition amont serious corporate and private collectors. These include such notables as Leon Panetta, Mohammed Ali, Dole Pineapple Corporation, Hollister, Inc., the late composer Elmer Bernstein and Actor Elinor Donahue.
Bringing a new dimension to landscape painting, the oils of Paul Youngman create an exciting experience for the viewer. His paintings have the essence of the early California Plein Air artist's view of color and changing light, but with a contemporary sophistication.
