Description
During the winter the sea is at its most awe-inspiring. Heavy grey skies, high winds and winter storms all conspire together to create wild and messy seas with white water and sea spray filling the air. Out of the deep blue, a sleek wave can rise up and surge towards the viewer with great force and intent. Using a limited palette of ultramarine, Payne's grey and titanium buff, Penny transforms the canvas into a roiling mass of water.
