This rare and charming pair of portraits is most likely brother and sister. Although primitive in nature and executed by an itinerant artist, they are well thought out. The draftsmanship of the faces of the sitters is rendered with great attention to the details. One of the more notable qualities of the paintings are the strong, vibrant colors which have aged and oxidized with little fading.
Provenance: John Walton, early 1980’s, Griswold, CT.
